ROB – THE HANDS ON MAN
Founded in 2009, Melbourne Home Builders is the outcome of a lifetime’s experience by owner Robert Wandaller.
A Melbournian born and bred, Rob has building in his blood. At the age of 15, he started an apprenticeship in carpentry under the guidance of his father, himself a highly-skilled craftsman.
Rob soon found his niche in the detailed work of fix-carpentry and set to honing his skills in that area.
Through years of working on-site, Rob moved his way up through the ranks, learning about all aspects of building on the way. This included everything from the smallest repair to complete new house builds.
Rob’s experience working in high-end construction projects gave him a love for fine details and a deep appreciation for the highest quality of finish. It also inspired the idea of one day running his own company and taking responsibility for producing beautiful homes that he could be proud to hand over to his own clients. The dream was to control every aspect of a build himself, ensuring every detail was finished to a standard that he could stand behind with total confidence and pride.

REALISING THE DREAM
Just over a decade ago, that dream became reality, and Melbourne Home Builders was created. Starting with a small team, the business has evolved into a highly efficient, well-oiled building and renovating machine. Rob’s years of working on sites, both big and small, all around Melbourne turned out to be a huge advantage when launching his new company.
The strong relationships that Rob had built over the years with top quality tradesmen and suppliers were invaluable to the success of the venture, with their pride in their work and attention to detail reflecting exactly what the MHB name stands for.
Rob’s extensive experience with all aspects of building here in Melbourne enables him to effectively communicate with architects, planning authorities and tradesmen alike. That great communication results in efficient work schedules and on-time project deliveries, while never compromising on quality.
WENDY – THE OPERATIONS MANAGER
They say that behind every great builder, and every great building, there’s an even better coordinator. Wendy Wandaller is the living proof.
After a long and successful stint helping to build a small business into a large corporation, Wendy turned her skills and attention to the role of Operations Manager at Melbourne Home Builders. Here, she uses her extensive business experience to support her husband, Rob, in keeping each and every home build running smoothly and seamlessly.
Having turned her hand at everything from customer service to logistics in her old career, Wendy now excels as a company coordinator, and is an invaluable component in the process of building our client’s forever homes.
With remarkable patience and diligence, Wendy tackles the bureaucratic aspects of a project, such as contract administration and health and safety compliance, along with all other paperwork necessary for building in a legal, safe and efficient manner.
